IPL Photofacial

If you’re dealing with visible signs of aging, dull skin, and hyperpigmentation, IPL photofacials are likely a great choice for you!

What is the IPL Photofacial?

As we age, our skin starts to wrinkle and grow dull or discolored, becoming damaged and less resilient overall. Sometimes topical products, no matter how effective, aren’t enough to turn back the clock. That’s where intense pulsed light (IPL) photofacials come in!

IPL photofacials use intense pulsed light to undo damage to the skin, while helping it heal. Using short blasts of light energy to heat layers of your skin, IPL photofacials stimulate skin cells in the targeted area to generate new collagen. Collagen is a protein that our bodies produce naturally to keep our skin firm and tight, but its production reduces as we age. By triggering its production, the photofacial helps restore your skin to a firmer feel and fresher look!

Skin Conditions IPL Can Treat:

  • Age and liver spots
  • Uneven skin texture
  • Hyperpigmentation and vascular lesions
  • Rosacea
  • Fine lines and wrinkles

Benefits of IPL Treatments:

  • Boosts collagen production for firm, bouncy skin
  • Minimizes the effects of sun damage and reduces scarring and spots
  • Improves skin tone and texture
  • Diminishes redness and veins associated with rosacea
  • No downtime

Am I a Candidate for IPL Photofacials?

If you’re dealing with visible signs of aging, dull skin, and hyperpigmentation, IPL photofacials are likely a great choice for you! If you’re on certain medications or have a skin condition, we’ll discuss your eligibility during a consultation to determine if a photofacial is a good option for you.

IPL Photofacial FAQs

What is intense pulsed light?
Intense pulsed light, or IPL, is a visible, broad-spectrum pulse of light that targets certain structures in the skin and hair. IPL has many uses, and at Rejuvenate Eye and Face Medspa, we use it to revitalize the skin, treat dry eye, and perform laser hair removal!
How does IPL work?
The flashes of light will target and be absorbed by different layers of your skin. Then, it stimulates your skin cells to regenerate, a process that occurs when the body’s natural healing capabilities are triggered. From there, your skin cells turnover to reveal tighter, brighter, and more even-toned skin. The collagen boost generated by IPL photofacials work to smooth lines and wrinkles.
What areas can be treated with an IPL Photofacial?
We use IPL on the face, hands, and neck. Other areas can be discussed during your consultation.
What does IPL Feel like?
A noninvasive procedure, you may feel a warming feeling or some tingling sensations. Typically, IPL is mild enough that there isn’t any need for numbing cream.
How Many IPL Treatments Will I need?
The number of treatments you require will vary based on your desired results and the condition of your skin. We typically recommend at least three treatments, but we can go over the specifics with you in a consultation.
What Can I Expect After IPL?
After your photofacial, you may notice some redness and the sensation of a sunburn. This should fade within a day or two, and you’ll notice gorgeous skin within days of the first treatment. Spots and broken blood vessels typically clear up within two weeks.
